Oh my Gosh can a book be more beautiful, Laduree

I didn’t set out too purchase a book but then that’s the thing about a well stocked and inviting book shop if you have a penchant for books in the first place your bound to end up with an armful at the till…… just me then?

I did manage to restrain myself as I only went in to look for Birthday ideas (for myself I may add but under instructions from family for a list) I had already seen a couple of baking books on Amazon that I liked the look of but wanted to see a few more pages than those they show on the site to make sure it had more than just a handful of recipes that fuelled my interest, which they did indeed have and this little beautiful book caught my eye and flirted shamelessly with me until I caved and picked it up to read the back of it.

It intrigued me, which is typically French of it. As I couldn’t open it up and languishingly leaf through the pages as it was sealed with cellophane. But it needn’t have worried it had me already and of to the till I trotted.

I couldn’t wait to get home and unwrap this little box of loveliness, and when I did finally get in and cut the cellophane carefully to expose a beautiful pastel green box which when opened revealed a velvety book under lilac tissue paper with golden lined pages.

I was even nervous to open the pages, it felt like I should be wearing those curator white gloves….but open them I did and it was enchanting.

The illustrations and photography are wonderful with beautiful china and glassware setting off the exquisite pastries and puddings. I just hope when I come to executing the recipes for myself that I can do them justice.

Once I have perfected the famous Macaroons I may well post a picture for you.

This is a truly gorgeous book and if you love books, cooking and photography, well you have it all covered in the little gem.

Have you fallen for a book
Would love to hear about it and see some pics….
